Kanawha Garden Club chose a landscaping project for the Garden Club of America's Project 2000.  The club voted to supply the six large, linden trees for the front of Hubbard Hospice House, which is West Virginia"s first residential hospice house.  This house, a twelve bed facility, is being built by Kanawha Hospice Care, Inc. Administrative offices and six patient bedrooms were completed in the fall of 2000.  An additional six bedrooms will be added during the yeras 2004-2010.  The landscaping plan was designed and donated by Tim Forren of Forren Soil,   In addition to the trees, Kanawha Garden Club provided funding for a conifer garden that is accessible to patients, families, caregivers and Hospice staff .  This garden can be accessed from the lobby area inside the house or by walking around to the rear of the house. Trees were planted in the fall of 2001, the conifer garden was planted in the spring of 2002.  Actual photographs of the house and gardens are below. The above picture is the architect's rendering, now a reality.
